The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donates to refugees

Topic /

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been generous with their contributions to the refugee crisis for decades. In recent months, the church has donated $6 million to resettlement agencies around the country, including U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI).

The donation includes in-kind gifts of food and furniture, which will be shared with ten local resettlement sites across our network.  Leaders from the church visited USCRI’s office to learn more about our national resettlement network and strategies.  Bishop Dean Davies of the Church of the Latter-day Saints delivered the the gift in person and emphasized that this was actually an outpouring of support from many congregants across the country who responded to the call to support refugees.

As a non-sectarian agency we are pleased to build relationships with community and religious leaders, and are so thankful for the benevolence of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
