“…Since I graduated, I just made a promise to myself that I will… be there for the refugees,” Says Amgad Abdalla, a former refugee who has been resettled in the Albany area.
When Abdalla was only 8 years old, he and his family came from Sudan to Albany, where he attended Hackett Middle School, Albany High, and Hudson Valley Community College. Now an American citizen, he dreams of being an engineer and working with refugees. Part of that dream has already become a reality, as Abdalla is a volunteer at RISSE – a partner of USCRI.
