IKEA Donates Goods to Detroit Refugees

Topic / /

USCRI Detroit would like to extend their many thanks to IKEA and their wonderful staff in the Canton store for their support of refugees and immigrants, and for their efforts in planning the latest donation campaign on IKEA’s website and in the store as a part of the 5,000 Dreams program.

USCRI is always in need of various in kind donations. These include lamps, cocktail tables, end tables, blankets, pillows, and numerous other items. Ms. Amanda Preston, the loyalty manager at the Canton IKEA store, and her team quickly posted the donation information on their website and placed signs throughout their store. Donation bins were even placed at the exit of the store for customers to easily drop their generous donations.

Ms. Preston and the IKEA team collected these new items between May 10thand June 4thand made them available to USCRI Detroit clients to use and enjoy on Wednesday June 6th.  “The 5,000 Dreams program goes hand-in-hand with our vision to create a better everyday life for many people,” Says Ms. Preston, “We are pleased to continue to play a part in helping refugee families build a new life here in our local communities by providing beds and bedding to make their homes more comfortable and ensure a good night’s sleep.”

The continuous efforts and services provided by USCRI would never be made possible without the kind donations from USCRI supporters, like IKEA. Please help us continue our mission of welcoming new individuals to the United States and providing foundations for a life filled with future success and happiness.
