Increase in Cubans entering the U.S.

As the U.S. begins to normalize relations with Cuba, the number of Cubans entering the U.S. has surged.  According to Dawn Nicholas Roberts of USCRI, many Cubans are resettling across North Carolina.  The overall increase in Cubans is likely due to a concern that thawing relations will cause the administration to cease the “wet-foot, dry-foot policy” which “guarantees [that] any Cuban who can get one foot on U.S. land and pass a background check can stay in the country legally.”  Read more & watch video here.
