Recently, USCRI Cleveland’s Bhutanese clients participated in a food demo from the local Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Together, clients and the the church members spent the time making momos, a traditional food of Bhutan and Nepal. This was an opportunity for the roles to be reversed for once, in which the clients were the teachers. The clients chopped cabbage and onions while one by one the guests picked up pastry wrappers and filling, learning to master making the beautiful edging known to this delicacy. After making momos, the clients and guests all shared a meal together, forming friendships and connecting cultures through food.
