On the 27th of October, Michigan State Police provided refugee training sessions and public safety education to the clients of USCRI Dearborn.
Michigan State Police and Trooper Austin DeClerc are providing USCRI Detroit refugees with monthly refugee training sessions. During this particular session, Trooper DeClerc presented about traffic safety, seat belts, car seats and boosters, and how to safely transport children in the State of Michigan to newly arrived refugees. The new community members were very excited and happy to attend these training sessions, and their feedback on the information they were given by Trooper DeClerc was extremely positive. Oftentimes we forget that things as simple as traffic safety and booster seats are not common knowledge to many who are resettled. We are thankful to Trooper DeClerc and the Michigan State Police for their contribution and kindness.
