Syrian refugee in Iowa praises U.S. action and gives thanks

KCCI 8 News in Des Moines interviewed Nassar Alhazoom, a Syrian refugee resettled to Iowa with his family with assistance of the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants Des Moines about his reaction to the U.S. missile airstrike in Syria following the chemical weapons attack. Alhazoom expressed praise for the action, concern for his mother and brother still in Syria and said over and over how happy he is to find freedom in America. He described Iowa as “very nice.” USCRI said, “The videos of babies dying from the chemical attack should enable to administration to understand the need for American leadership in protecting and supporting refugees fleeing the ongoing atrocities.
