Vermont refugees prepare to reunite with families

Topic /

Bhim Mangar and Indra Karki are two Bhutanese men who have survived years in the refugee camp, separation from families, and adjustment to Vermont together.

This week, their family members are finally joining them in Vermont after years of planning.

“After they arrive, they must strive and they must prove that they can do something here,” Mangar said.

Vermont Refugee Resettlement Porgram (VRRP) prepares to welcome Mangar and Karki’s family members to Vermont.

Mangar and Karki help prepare living arrangements for their incoming families.

Although there is still hesitancy about how long the resettlement program will be permitted to operate, for now, Burlington continues to welcome refugees and reunite families.
