USCRI is pleased to announce, in thanks to a strong partnership between the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) and the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), that 14 Refugee AmeriCorps members are serving as volunteer coordinators at USCRI partner and field sites across the country. The program aims to increase the capacity of participating sites to provide comprehensive services to clients, increase resources, and reach out to communities. The participating sites include:
During their program year, AmeriCorps members will be responsible for developing and managing effective volunteer programs that will provide services to approximately 5,200 clients and, they will create and implement at least three new volunteer management best practices at the 14 sites.
In addition, AmeriCorps members will recruit, train, and manage approximately 1,300 volunteers. These volunteers are crucial to providing refugee clients with English instruction, cultural orientation, mentoring, assistance with housing, employment, health care, and education, financial literacy, and many other services.
USCRI would like to thank AmeriCorps members for helping to provide quality services to refugees across America.
