PROMOTING INTERCULTURAL EDUCATION: USCRI DELIVERS TRAINING TO UAA PROFESSORS

August 11, 2025

As part of its commitment to inclusive education, USCRI’s Welcoming Communities program delivered the course “Social Transformation and Shared Responsibility: Building Inclusive Educational Communities” at the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes (UAA) in Mexico. The course equipped professors with innovative tools and strategies to promote inclusion, interculturality, and social responsibility within the university setting—fostering the development of more supportive, resilient, and inclusive educational communities. The training employed a comprehensive methodology that combined active, collaborative, and reflective learning, integrating conceptual analysis with practical exercises, teamwork, and independent activities.

The workshop promoted the teaching of social responsibility through the development of proposals tailored to the university context. It also benefited from the valuable participation of Darla América Anguiano Soriano from the Marist Migrant Support Center (CAMMI), and Paola Monroy from the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), both of whom significantly enriched the learning experience with their insights and expertise.

Thanks to the dedicated engagement of the participating faculty, the workshop represented an important step toward building educational environments that are more inclusive, empathetic, and committed to social transformation.
