USCRI Vermont- Flood Relief Efforts

July 31, 2023

On Monday, July 24th USCRI Vermont staff, case aides, and volunteers traveled to the Montpelier and Barre communities to help with cleanup in flood ravaged neighborhoods. Our team spent the day working with local residents and business owners offering whatever assistance was needed and joined others who stopped by to help. The scale of damage and the impact of the floods was beyond words almost two weeks after the flood waters have receded. One of the homes we worked in was owned by a refugee family that also owned a business in the area.
We spoke with Khalil, Michele, Matt, Martha, and Omar about what inspired them to volunteer, click here or watch the video below to see their responses.
Everyone here at USCRI Vermont would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the amazing donors, volunteers, community groups, businesses, agencies, and individuals who have given to flood relief efforts and have helped our communities rise above this catastrophe our state heals and continues on the long road to rebuilding – Thank you.
