Immigrant Children

August 15, 2020

An unaccompanied migrant child is someone who is: under the age of 18 years old; has no legal status, and; has no parent or legal guardian in the United States or the parent or legal guardian is unavailable to provide physical custody or care. USCRI’s shelter for unaccompanied migrant girls, Rinconcito del Sol, called a “model government-funded shelter,” provides care for unaccompanied minor girls between the ages of 13-17 until we can find their parents and reunite them. Our Post-Release Services provides critical follow-up care to migrant children united with their families or their sponsors to assist them on their adjustment to their new lives.
