Fourth Student Committee Meeting

April 9, 2025

The fourth Student Committee meeting – or “Claustro” – was held on March 21st and 22nd in our home city of Aguascalientes. We were pleased to receive 11 intelligent, empathetic, and affable representatives from seven of our partner universities. The primary objective of this Claustro was to create a space for our attendees to train on best practices to bring back to their universities and forge bonds between the students to strengthen their already resilient network. Furthermore, we took this opportunity to advise students on their ongoing projects for their committees to ensure their continued success.

Our days were composed of theoretical, training, and planning workshops. Across these three categories, we discussed a number of relevant topics, including strategies for accompanying refugee and migrant populations, navigating the challenges of working in the humanitarian sector, and growing key areas of our network.

The representatives greatly enriched our debates with their diverse perspectives, and we look forward to seeing how they use their refortified knowledge to lobby their local and university decision makers for increased inclusion of refugees. As a result of this Claustro, the Student Committees have the new and dynamic tools they need to carry out their initiatives and generate a positive impact in their university communities.
