USCRI Board Member Linda Thomas-Greenfield Appointed As Our Next U.S. Ambassador to the U.N.

November 25, 2020

USCRI would like to extend its heartfelt congratulations to our board member, Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, on her appointment to become the next United States Ambassador to the United Nations by President-Elect Joe Biden.

USCRI has been honored to have Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield serve on our Board following her long and distinguished career in public service. Her extensive experience at the State Department included postings in Switzerland, Pakistan, Kenya, The Gambia, Nigeria and Jamaica, culminating in her appointment to Assistant Secretary for African Affairs.

As Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration, Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield shaped refugee policies that reflected America’s commitment to the global community’s most vulnerable people.

Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield has dedicated her life to serving her country. Throughout her career, she has represented the best of what America has to offer and she has touched the lives of the many people she has met in far off places around the world.

USCRI will miss having Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield on our board but we are proud that she was chosen to play such a significant role in shaping U.S. foreign policy during such a challenging period in global affairs
