READ FULL STORYThis spring we are gearing up to welcome large numbers of refugee arrivals.
President Biden has pledged to raise the number of refugees admitted to the United States from 15,000 to 62,500 this year, and to 125,000 for the new fiscal year starting October 1st. We know this will be a big task, especially with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. But we are preparing to meet the challenge.
This spring, we are launching a fundraiser to provide new beds for every refugee family arriving to Greater Des Moines. Our goal is to raise $15,000*. Your donation will ensure children are well rested for school and parents are ready to face the workday.
If you’re able, please consider making a donation. Visit www.refugees.org/donate-uscri-des-moines/ and enter the word “Beds” in the comments section of the form. Working together, we will rebuild our nation’s refugee program.
*Any additional funds raised will be used to support refugee needs in Central Iowa
