USCRI’s Statement on the Passage of the Continuing Resolution
The U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) celebrates the passage of the Continuing Resolution last night, which includes important funding and benefits for Afghans who are paroled into the United States. USCRI has advocated for the expansion of resettlement services and other benefits for Afghan parolees, and is pleased to see that this has been accomplished through the Continuing Resolution. The Continuing Resolution authorizes Afghan parolees to receive refugee resettlement benefits, including reception and placement services, and public benefits such as food assistance.
